How to read the proof report
The proof report is a completion certificate for one signing workflow: who participated, what was signed, when signatures were recorded, and whether payout or file-release events were attached. Download it alone or inside the proof packet.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”- Finance or legal needs a quick review without opening the signed contract PDF
- You want to confirm parties, timestamps, and field completions before archiving
- You are deciding which download format to email (report only vs full ZIP vs merged PDF)
- An auditor asks for a human-readable summary of the workflow
How it works
Section titled “How it works”The proof report summarizes one envelope in plain language:
- About this record and quick summary on the cover
- Who signed and parties
- Signing timeline
- Field placements: signature, date, and text fields completed
- Optional sections for payout packets and gated files
- How to verify independently with a link to the public verifier
Most readers only need the first five sections. Cryptographic and chain details live in the proof packet ZIP and are checked through the independent verifier, not in the PDF body.
Example workflow
Section titled “Example workflow”A bookkeeper receives a signed services agreement. They download the proof report PDF only (scroll icon on the document page), confirm the vendor and dates match expectations, and file it alongside the invoice without parsing the contract itself.
What to watch out for
Section titled “What to watch out for”- Use the independent verifier when you need cryptographic or on-chain checks. Drop the proof packet ZIP on the page; you do not need to read
proofs/files yourself. - Payout and gated-file sections appear only when the sender added those features.
- The proof report is evidence, not a legal opinion on enforceability. See E-signature evidence.
Traditional e-sign tools often attach a certificate PDF to the signed file. Filosign separates the signed document and a detailed report so finance and legal can review evidence without parsing the contract file itself.
