Comments on drafts and envelopes
Comments let workspace members coordinate on drafts and open envelopes without leaving Filosign. Comments are end-to-end encrypted like the documents they discuss.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”- Legal or finance wants internal notes on a draft before send
- Your team needs to agree on a void or signer amendment before acting
- You want to flag payout or attachment questions on an open envelope
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Comments on drafts and documents require Teams or Teams Pro.
Draft comments appear on saved team drafts while you are still composing. Everyone who can access the draft can read and post.
Envelope comments appear on the sign or document page header. Everyone who can decrypt the envelope can read and post.
Comments are not included as formal proof fields in the proof report. Workflow events and signatures are.
Example workflow
Section titled “Example workflow”Before voiding a sent agreement, an admin posts in envelope comments: "Legal approved void; waiting for finance." The team aligns in the encrypted thread, then the admin voids from the document page.
What to watch out for
Section titled “What to watch out for”- Comments are not public or visible to recipients outside the encrypted thread.
- Comments are not a substitute for legal advice or external counsel review.
- Comments do not replace draft review links when external clients need view-only access.
How to comment in the app
Section titled “How to comment in the app”On a draft
