Storage status in the app
Open a completed envelope from Home. The document view may show a short storage or retention status. Use it to answer: "Is Filosign still holding this document, and for how long?"
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”- You want to confirm Filosign is still storing a signed agreement
- An archival plan is ending soon and you need to download a copy
- A document shows backing up for a long time and you are unsure what that means
- Finance asks whether retention is active on a closed deal
How it works
Section titled “How it works”| What you see | In plain terms |
|---|---|
| Available | You can open the document normally in the app |
| Backing up | Filosign is moving an encrypted copy into long-term storage |
| Archived | An archival plan is keeping this document for the term you bought |
| Ending soon | Retention or your plan is about to expire; download a copy if you need one |
Exact wording can vary slightly. The important part is whether you still have access and whether an archival term applies.
Example workflow
Section titled “Example workflow”A compliance lead opens a two-year-old NDA and sees Archived with a 3-year term. They confirm the workspace archival subscription is active and download a fresh proof packet for an external audit file.
What to watch out for
Section titled “What to watch out for”- Status labels apply to finished or voided workflows, not in-progress envelopes.
- Ending soon means you should download your own copy if you need one after retention lapses.
- Contact support if a completed document shows backing up for many weeks with no change.
